nope. You can do it by hand. I push the old pads against the cylinder to expand them.

Thanks. ’94 ninja zx6 looks very similar. All my bikes have been similar, too.
Good catch! I did push the calipers in after cleaning them. Forgot to film it. They pushed in really easily.

would changing the …
would changing the brake pads on this bike be very different to changing the pads on another bike? I have a ’94 kawasaki ninja.
Also, I noticed you didn’t need to adjust the calipers. When I changed the brakes on my car I would sometimes need to push the calipers in so that there would be room for the new pads.

What do the spring plates do and are they nessisary??? I was riding my gsxr750 and those pins fell out some how and both brake pads went bouncing down the road. scared the out of me. Now i ordered parts and am fixing this weekend.
