Brake pads change, do you always have to bleed the brake fluid?
How To Change Brake Pads December 1st, 2009When you change Brake Pads and put the piston back with a C-clamp, and finish up the brake pad change, do you ALWAYS have to bleed the brake fluid? if so, do you have to do it just in the line you worked on, or you have to it in all 4 tires?
It is going to be my first time changing brakes, so I want to be sure everything is clear, I think its not that hard

no u almost never have to bleed the brakes when changing the pads…..only time ud have to bleed it is if u disconnected the caliper for some reason……just don’t forget to put a rag around the master cylinder to catch any extra fluid when u push in the piston…..and make sure its full when ur done…good luck

no if u dont let loose the lines you dont have to bleed them

no, if your just changing the brake pads you don’t have to bleed the brake lines,but it would be a good ideal to have brake lines power flushed about once a year because moisture does build up inside of them and cause premature failures due to rust formation and scoring of piston walls caused by the moisture/water interfering with its lubrication.

No , i take a rubber line put on the bleeder and run it to a bottle of fluid . As long as the end of the rubber line is under the fluid level. you can loosen the bleeder so you can push back the pistons in the calipers with out drawing any air into the system… it is also a good way to bleed the system of any air that has got into the system.

easy really my wife does her own brake jobs should have brake rotors turned at a shop or replace them anyone can do a brake job not much to it just replacing pads simple mnight need a big screwdriver and a wrench to remove caliber pin or bolt pry/ push back on old pads far as you can remove bolt or pin remove pad put back new one your done check brake fluid pump pedal til you have a pressure if you remove a line or break loose a bleeder then you need to bleed but thats not hard either
