help me with a price for selling my 2005 subaru wrx wagon?
Hawk Brake Pads September 12th, 2009The car is a 5 speed and has 27,000 miles. It is in good to excellent shape. I have done modifications to the car. For engine, it has a turbo back exhaust with up pipe, engine management tuned with 215whp. Suspension, I have subaru pink springs with koni inserts, Whiteline front and rear sway bars, whiteline rear strut, kartboy endlinks, steering rack bushings, and rce camber plates. Brakes, I have goodridge lines with hawk pads. I have a short throw shifter. I will be selling it with stock wheels with bfg traction ta tires in excellent shape. I have other wheels and tires I will sell for 900 firm if they want it. Those are enkei rpf 17×8 with bridgestone reo1r’s 235/45/17. I will also throw in a set of used titek lugs.
So my car is modded but in great shape. What do you think I can sell it for like this? BTW I am in California and the car won’t pass smog as is. I have no cats in it. To pass they would have to switch out the downpipes for one with a cat. So what do you think? Thanks. I was thinking 16k
I would part out the modifications and sell the car as close to stock as possible. Most people will tell you that mods do not add to the value of the car and in fact your mods tell me that the car was driven hard so I would not pay anything close to that. And you must have a generic re flash because 215 is pretty low for a car that has been tuned. Even on a low reading dyno like a Mustang. You have other mods that I would question too but that’s beside the point. If you really need to get rid of the car, take the mods off and you will make more money selling them off the car.

Start with Kelly Bluebook used car values. Http://www.kbb.com/ . Look it up.
Now add the value of all the mods, and subtract the cost of removing them. Or something like that!

16k is a good ballpark. If you want it to sell for 16k then list it for 16,500 and then if the ask the complete lowest price tell them you will let it go for 16k. The problem is that not everyone wants a modded car. I am getting ready to sell my modded Vw Passat 1.8t and it only fits in a few peoples categories. I would list it on craigslist first. See if it generates any interest at this price but it is a low miles car and has some nice accomidating mods so you could find someone that wants to pick this up.
I agree with your price though. I love the WRX wagon and I am sure someone would pick this deal up. If it doesnt get ANY interest or very little with no offers lower it down to about 15. Let it be on there for the full 60 days. Then go to autotrader and ebay free classifieds. Dealers dont usually want to take in modded cars because they sell to only a certain audience.
Good luck and I’m sure you will get what you want for this
