If I use ceramic brake pads, do I need to buy a special kind of rotor? Or can I use a regular rotor?

You dont need special rotors for Ceramic BrakBrake Pads. Half the new cars for the last several years came from the factory with OE (original equipment) ceramic pads and regular rotors. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from cheap ceramic pads like auto zone etc….

A rotor is a rotor is a rotor…..and they're all made of the same material…just made in different places. (Mexico, Canada, China and on rare occasions, even the U.S.A.)

no special rotors required. but I have found the ceramic pads eat the hell out of the rotors. don't be suprised on the brake job if the rotors are torn to hell and the pads look like new

No you don't need a special rotor.
The ceramic are way better because of there anti-squeel properties.
Just make sure you sand/scour the mirror glassy finish glaze ,off your rotors brake contact surfaces with 120 grit sandpaper. Just Dull the entire surfaces of both sides of the rotors ,before putting the new pads on .

Combine your ceramic pads with slotted rotors. It's not expensive and they're made to match
