How much should ceramic front brake pads and roters cost to replace on a 2003 Ford Expedition, including labor
Ceramic Brake pads May 2nd, 2009
I paid around $485 for parts and labor. Fronts only. I was wondering if I got ripped off….
ceramic pads are the best for brake materials -usually no noise issues-you will need one set. brake rotors will vary they might have cheap & more moderately expensive ones you will need a set of two. if you have 4 wheel capability you may have hub rotors-more expensive. if you have hub rotors they may be more to install because of additional labor involved. so a base price(1) $70-$109 on ceramics,(2) $30-$75 each rotor(two), labor will vary about $150-200 including rotors $300+ for hub type and that's minimal. get estimates 1st not all pricesare the same-use wagner parts for fords-good fit!!!!
If I use ceramic brake pads, do I need to buy a special kind of rotor? Or can I use a regular rotor?

That sounds right for brakes and rotors. The expidition has HEAVY rotors so they were probably pricey. You probably didn't need them though. They probably should have just turned them. Unless the brake pedal was really pulsating. Otherwise, just turn them on a lathe to get a good surface. You should rarely have to replace the rotors on a 3/4 ton vehicle.
