Can you visually tell the difference between semi-metallic and ceramic brake pads?
Ceramic Brake pads July 5th, 2009My latest pads are a little loud and I’m trying to figure if it’s the luck of the draw or if I was handed the wrong pads…
You can tell the difference because of the noise level when driving. You can see the filthy dust and dirt on the wheels and tires with your eyes.
Metallic and semi-metallic Brake Pads also chew the living dog meat off the inner and outer faces of the friction surfaces of the rotors.

it’ll be hard to tell what the pads are if they’re on, but the metallics that i’ve seen had a copper color. but check your rim for excess heat after driving to make sure the calipers aren’t sticking
